Penguatan Budaya Komunikasi Efektif dan Percaya Diri Generasi Alpha

Abstract

This community service initiative was motivated by the low levels of effective communication skills and self-confidence among Generation Alpha students in the school environment, as evidenced by a lack of courage to speak up, limited ability to express ideas systematically, and low participation in classroom interactions. This activity aims to strengthen a culture of effective communication and boost students’ self-confidence through a participatory learning approach. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), comprising the stages of needs analysis, planning, implementation, and evaluation and reflection. The implementation strategy integrates the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model through group discussions, simulations, role-playing, and presentations as forms of experiential learning. The results of the activity show improvements in the aspects of speaking confidence, clarity in conveying ideas, self-confidence, discussion participation, and interpersonal communication, achieving a “good” rating. Additionally, there was a change in students’ communication behavior, becoming more active, open, and confident in interacting. This activity also contributed to creating a more communicative and collaborative learning environment. Thus, this community service program was effective in developing the communication skills of Generation Alpha to prepare them to face academic and social challenges in the digital age.
